The Vornado 733DC is Vornado’s large Energy Smart circulator and is made in the USA. It pairs a brushless DC motor and true variable speed with a rated reach of up to 100 ft, the longest among the Vornado air circulator fans we cover.
Our Verdict
The 733DC is the Vornado to buy for a large room where the fan runs all day. It matches the AC 660’s rated 100 ft reach, but its DC motor uses much less power and its variable-speed dial gives finer control, from a whisper to a strong current.
It is expensive, and the dial sits on the back. There is no remote or timer, which is a notable gap at this price.

Airflow and Coverage
Deep-pitched blades, an inlet guide cone, a spiral grille and an enclosed duct push air up to 100 ft, enough to circulate a large living room or open-plan space from one spot.
Instead of a tilt head, the 733DC uses an adjustable base with 3 positions, so you can aim it level, slightly up or toward the ceiling.
Efficiency and Controls
The brushless DC motor is the reason to pay more. It draws far less power than an AC motor, which adds up over a summer of daily use.
Speed is continuously variable on a dial at the back of the fan. It carries Vornado’s 5-year guarantee.
Placement Tips
For whole-room circulation, set the fan on the floor or a low table and aim it across the longest part of the room or slightly toward the ceiling. Aim it straight at yourself only when you want a direct breeze.
If you run an air conditioner, place the circulator where it can push the cooled air into the rest of the room. In winter, aim it at the ceiling to bring warm air back down.
Running Costs and Care
DC motors draw little power, especially on the lower speeds most people use at night, so running the fan for many hours a day adds only a small amount to an electric bill.
Dust the grille and blades every few weeks during the season. A clean circulator stays quieter and moves air more efficiently.
How It Compares
Against the Vornado 660, the 733DC costs more but swaps a 4-speed AC motor for a variable-speed DC motor with the same rated reach.
Against DREO’s 16-inch smart circulator, the Vornado is simpler and made in the USA, while the DREO adds oscillation, app control and a remote.
